Mornings With Melanie  / Contours

It's been a long journey for me at WNTI. First starting out as a listener in the 1980's and now being part of management for the station and an employee of Centenary College. My passion for music started right from birth. My father was a drummer in a weekend band and my mother a dance instructor. I also have a brother and several aunts and uncles who were professional musicians so I guess it was just natural for me to end up in this business.

I host the Mornings with Melanie show from 6:00 - 9:00 am Monday through Friday and am also the Executive Producer and Host of Contours, WNTI's weekly issues and arts radio magazine.

Being involved with WNTI has opened a whole new world for me from interviewing musicians famous and not so famous to being the master of ceremonies on stage in front of over 5000 festival goers. I wouldn't trade my job for any other job in the world and when I'm old and grey, I'll show off my pictures and tell my stories to my grandchildren!

Mick Tillson on One More Cup of Coffee

On Friday September 26th, Melanie welcomed Mick Tillson to Studio A for the last Friday of the month live One More Cup of Coffee with Bob Dylan segment. Mick is from Upper Mt. Bethel, PA and a member of the band Skysleeper.  He has also been a WNTI listener his entire life! All Along the Watchtower was his Dylan song of choice because of his love of the music of Neil Young.

CONTOURS: Sunday September 28, 2014

  1.  Midnight Run:  Melanie Thiel interviews Lindsay Smith and Matthew Coons from Centenary College about the Midnight Run program which takes a group of Centenary College students and advisors into New York City to distribute food and clothing to the homeless community.  Midnight Run is a national program.  The three trips this year will be Sept. 26, Oct. 24, and Nov.

  1.   Harvey at CPAG:  Bill Nutt interviews Carl Wallnau and Steven Barron about the next Centenary Stage production, Harvey.  The show opens in the Sitnik Theater at Centenary College on October 3, 2014.
  1.   ALS Event:  Melanie Thiel interviews Charlie Dourney and Donna York about a fund raiser beefsteak dinner to benefit the Elaine Stewart Tyrrell Memorial Scholarship Fund at Centenary College and also the documentary about ALS.  The dinner is on October 10, 2014 at the VFW in Morris Plains, NJ and the movie can be seen at various screenings.
