Bill Nutt interviews Singer-songwriter Lucy Kaplansky

Since the release of The Tide in 1994, Lucy Kaplansky has been hailed as an exemplar of the new generation of folk-inspired Singer-songwriters.  The Chicago native began her career in the late 1970s and early 1980s in New York City clubs, where she crossed paths with such kindred spirits as John Gorka and Shawn Colvin (who produced The Tide). 

Lucy Kaplansky has also been praised for her skill at covering other artists’ songs, which she demonstrated as one-third of the band Cry Cry Cry, which included Dar Williams and Richard Shindell.
